What is your earliest memory?
My earliest memories are of training in Russia. There are times when I think I might remember something before that, but then I realize it's probably a fantasy I made up. I never had any happy times in my child, so I likely made some up. I do remember a ballerina music box.
What was your biggest disillusion as a child?
That my former life was the only one for me. I was convinced there was no way out. Not until Clint came along.
What's one thing no one knows about you?
There are lots of things no one knows about me. But I suppose if you're looking for one thing, when I was younger, I once dreamed of entering the Olympics for gymnastics. I've always been particularly good at it.
What's one thing everyone assumes about you that isn't true?
I guess it would b that I don't feel emotions. It's true that I was trained not to feel them, or more accurately not to act on them. But I get just as scared as everyone else.
What's one thing you wish you could stop?
Nightmares.
What's one thing you've always wanted to do, but never have?
Okay, I realize this sounds sort of silly, but I've always wanted to attend a school dance. You see them on TV all the time, and they're made out to be this staple of growing up, but I never had one. I think it would be a bit fun to get dressed up, and hope the guy of your dreams asks you to dance.
What are you a sucker for?
New toys. Put a shiny new gun in my hand any day.
What's your biggest pet peeve?
Oh god, so many. I guess it would probably be when I miss something obvious. Not only do I feel like a complete dumbass, but in the field it could mean the difference between life and death.
What is your most prized possession?
I don't really have any material possessions that I prize above anything else. It's a waste.
What can absolutely make your day, no matter what?
Do you want a list. • One upping Tony Stark. • Those moments when Clint and I get some free time. • Overhearing Hill lecture Fury (doesn't happen enough, but sometimes).
What's the worst part of your life right now?
Dealing with the aftermath of the Jitauri attack. It's been hell to clean up. Not to mention the psych evals, and little interviews like this.

That's a loaded question. Children are not an option right now.
If/when you ever have children, what is one thing you absolutely want to teach them?
That they're free to make their own life choices.
What was the worst advice your father ever gave you? The best?
I think that's a subject we'd best avoid.

Probably when I made my first kill. It was a milestone.
How do you feel about sex?
I don't think of sex romantically. With the number of people I've slept with, for the number of reasons, it's hard to think of it in some lovey dovey manner. Sex is a tool to be used.

Someone who can keep up with me. Someone who knows and can handle my emotional bullshit. And someone who will treat me like a person, not just a means to an end.
How do you deal with depression, stress or sadness?
I set it aside and focus on other things. There is always something more important to be doing.
How do you think of yourself?
I don't really think highly of myself, if we're being honest here. I will openly admit that I am skilled in many different areas. I'm an expert gymnast, martial artist, I've been trained in the use of many weapons. I speak several different languages, and I excel in the art of seduction. But those are just things I'm good at. I've done things, things that aren't easily forgiven. And sometimes I think I might do things again. But I try to strive and get past all that.
How do your friends think of you?
Hah, probably better than I think of myself. I know Barton has a lot of faith in me, and I only hope I can live up to his expectations.

They either fear me, or think they're going to be the ones to break me. They're wrong.
